Arkavello Release New Single ‘Spaghettified’
Arkavello have just released their new single ‘Spaghettified’, and I had the pleasure of mixing and mastering this one.
This is the follow-up to their track ‘Carcosa’, which I also worked on, so it was great to get the chance to work with the band again on another release.
It’s got a really cool alternative feel to it, and one of the things I liked most when working on it was the way the chorus opens up. There was already some lovely stereo width there, especially in the acoustic guitars, and I wanted to make the most of that so when those choruses arrive they really lift and hit properly.
That’s often the fun part for me with a mix - not forcing something onto the song that doesn’t belong there, but hearing what’s already working and helping it come through in the strongest way possible.
That width in the chorus felt like one of those things here. The pick attacks in the upper acoustic parts had this nice sense of openness and dynamic to them already, so it was really about using that to help create a bit more impact and contrast when the bigger sections land.
Really pleased with how this one turned out as it’s a fantastic track!
