working with major labels

Does this sound familiar?

You’ve written, recorded, produced, and probably listened to the song more times than is healthy. But now you need it to sound finished, and that’s where things can get frustrating.

It’s not translating properly

Great in one place. Muddy, harsh, or thin somewhere else.

It doesn’t sound pro yet

The song is there, but the final sound isn’t quite competing.

It still feels unfinished

You can hear the potential, but something isn’t landing yet

You’re not sure what it needs

Mixing, mastering, both, or just a fresh pair of ears?

You’ve lost perspective

You’ve heard it too many times to trust your judgement.

You want release-day confidence

So when it hits streaming, it sounds like it belongs.

Hi, I’m Mick.

I spent over ten years working with major record labels. Now I work for you.

I help independent artists make their music sound polished and professional, so it holds its own alongside major releases on streaming platforms.

My background

I started my career at Island Records before joining Abbey Road Studios in London as an audio engineer in 2015. There I worked on projects for artists including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Australia, I work with artists around the world as a freelance mastering engineer, helping them get their music sounding finished, polished and ready for release.

What I can bring to your music

By the time a song reaches mastering, you’ve usually heard it hundreds of times. It can be hard to know whether the vocal is too loud, the low end is too much, the track is too harsh, or the whole thing just needs a fresh perspective.

I’ll help bring the song into focus, clean up the balance, add depth and polish where it needs it, and make sure the final version feels ready to release.

Clarity. Balance. Depth. Translation. Polish. Perspective.
