Join The Mailing List

I have a mailing list.

Very exciting stuff, I know. Try to remain calm.

I use it to send occasional emails for independent artists, producers and songwriters who are trying to get their music finished, mixed, mastered and out into the world without disappearing down a rabbit hole.

Nothing too intense. No daily emails. No weird marketing funnel. No “unlock your sound” nonsense every three days.

Just useful stuff from the studio.

What I’ll Send

Mostly, the kind of stuff I already talk through with artists every week:

• Simple mix and master prep tips
• Common mistakes I see when artists send files over
• Thoughts on finishing and releasing music
• New guides and resources from the website
• Occasional updates from the studio

Nothing too heavy. Just practical bits that might help when you’re trying to get a song over the finish line.

Who It’s For

This is mainly for independent artists, songwriters, producers and bands working on their own releases.

You don’t need to be an audio nerd.

Lovely if you are, obviously. But the point of the emails is to make the technical side feel a bit clearer and less annoying, especially when you’re deep into a track and can’t tell whether it needs mixing, mastering, another production pass, or just someone to say:

“Mate, this is basically there.”

From The Studio

I’m Mick Morrison, a mixing and mastering engineer based in Australia. Before working independently, I spent seven years as an audio engineer at Abbey Road Studios, working across projects for artists including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, David Bowie, The Who, Black Sabbath, ABBA, Michael Jackson, The Police, Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons.

These days I mostly work with independent artists, helping them get their tracks sounding finished, balanced and ready for release.

Want In?

Pop your details in below and I’ll send you the occasional useful studio email.

No daily nonsense. Promise.
